This policy explains what data we collect when you use our mobile app or website (pofide.com), how we use it, the legal basis (KVKK Art.5 / GDPR Art.6), and how we protect it. For Turkish law, this disclosure also serves as the KVKK Art.10 information notice.

2. Your Files Stay on Your Device

Pofide's core principle: PDF processing happens on your device. Documents you upload or process are never sent to our servers, stored, or shared with third parties. All merge, split, compress, and sign operations are completed locally in your browser or on your mobile device.

3. Data We Collect

When you create an account or use the app, we may collect the following data:

  • Account information: Email address and encrypted credential (via secure cloud authentication infrastructure; legal basis: performance of contract — KVKK Art.5/2-c / GDPR Art.6(1)(b))
  • Usage data: Number of operations performed, credit balance
  • Subscription information: Purchase history and subscription status (via subscription & payment management service integrated with App Store / Play Billing; legal basis: performance of contract)
  • Device information: Operating system, app version (for debugging)

4. How We Use Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • Managing your account and verifying your identity
  • Tracking credit and subscription status
  • Improving app performance
  • Troubleshooting technical issues

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services:

  • Secure cloud infrastructure: Authentication and database (EU/US regions, TLS encrypted, protected by Standard Contractual Clauses)
  • Subscription & payment management service (integrated with App Store / Play Billing)

These service providers process data only on our behalf and under our instructions. Your documents are not shared — PDF processing is local on your device. Cross-border transfers (e.g., EU/US) are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses and TLS encryption. We do not sell your personal data. You can request details of recipients via info@pofide.com.

6. Data Security

Your personal data is stored on secure encrypted cloud infrastructure. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed. Session management is handled via httpOnly, Secure cookies. All communication is encrypted over HTTPS (TLS). Access is restricted to the data controller.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Request access to and a copy of your data
  • Request correction and notification to third parties (KVKK Art.11/d-e, GDPR Art.16/19)
  • Request deletion/erasure and notification to third parties (KVKK Art.11/e-f, GDPR Art.17/19) — in-app (Account → Delete) and via info@pofide.com or pofide.com/delete-account; deletion is immediate, except pseudonymous email hash retained for fraud prevention
  • Object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (KVKK Art.11/g-h, GDPR Art.20/21/77) via info@pofide.com

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies: __Host-__session / __session (14-day session, httpOnly, Secure) and NEXT_LOCALE (language preference, 1 year, Lax) plus __session_exists (non-httpOnly session marker). No advertising or tracking cookies. See /cookies for full table.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If we discover that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

10. Policy Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on pofide.com and via your registered email. Continued use after announcement means acceptance. Retention: account data is kept while your account is active; after deletion, only a pseudonymous email hash may be retained for fraud prevention; otherwise data is erased immediately. No data is kept longer than necessary.
